Fancy taking part in Ireland’s toughest mental and physical challenge?
Are you up for the challenge of going through Hell & Back for a worthy cause? We’re encouraging people to sign up in support of Team Archie and raise funds during this adrenaline-fuelled adventure.
Since 2011, Hell & Back has been inviting thrill seekers to Killruddery Estate, Bray, Co Wicklow, for Ireland’s toughest mental and physical challenge. On Saturday, June 7, they’ll be hosting their biggest event yet with an action-packed day of fun, grit and unforgettable adventure.
There are two course options to choose from, an 8km and a 13km, so whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned Hell & Back enthusiast, you’ll have your choice. Given the location, you’ll experience jaw-dropping views of Dublin Bay from the Little Sugar Loaf as you tackle thrilling obstacles across rugged rivers, forests, mountains and bogs.
There’s no pressure to be a super-athlete; anyone aged 16+ can take part. All you need is a bit of basic training and a positive mental attitude! Each obstacle and every step is designed by Hell & Back’s award-winning team to push you to your limit and reveal what you’re truly capable of.
Hell & Back welcomes groups of charity supporters to take on the challenge for a worthy cause of their choice. We’re encouraging our IMAGE readers to take part on behalf of Team Archie, a fundraising campaign to raise money for Archie, a little boy with an ultra-rare condition: Muscular Dystrophy (MD).
In December 2024, Archie was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, a condition affecting just one in 5,000 people. MD weakens the muscles in his arms, legs, shoulders, and hips. Without timely treatment, it will take away his ability to walk, stand, and do everyday tasks—eventually leaving him dependent on a wheelchair.
Together with Fairstone, Team Archie was launched to rally a community to help Archie get the care he needs. Their goal is to raise €150,000 and send him to the US for pioneering treatment—giving him the chance to keep being the active, joyful little boy he is.
Archie’s mum, Úna Ennis, will be featuring in a future episode of The Motherload Season Two, where she spoke to host and IMAGE editorial director Dominique McMullan about motherhood and the Team Archie cause. Of their conversation, Dominique says: “Meeting Úna and hearing Archie’s story first-hand was something I’ll never forget. Her strength, love, and utter determination to raise the necessary funds to give her little boy the life he deserves is nothing short of extraordinary.”
