Daniel Craig, Dalkey Local

Daniel Craig, Dalkey Local

Daniel Craig is moving to Dalkey for a few weeks and you’re already googling DART daytrip fares. Craig and Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz shall be setting up home in the coastal suburb for the duration of the filming of The Lobster, a sci-fi in which Weisz stars with Colin Farrell. While the majority of the The Lobster will be shot in Kerry, the couple are basing themselves in the capital. Fresh from Broadway where they starred opposite each other in Harold Pinter’s infidelity classic, Betrayal, we see nothing but fine Southside times ahead for these two. Craig and Weisz married in 2011, catching most the media off-guard with their low-key ceremony. They reside mainly in New York with Weisz’s young son Henry – from her relationship with director Darren Aronofsky – and seem to only bother with celebrity red carpet pomp when totally necessary.

Craig meanwhile is gearing up for the filming of the next, as yet untitled, Bond movie. Word has it that Penelope Cruz is his next co-star. Her name was mistakenly leaked to the French press earlier this week and at forty she will apparently be the oldest Bond girl ever. About time.
