These amazing dollhouses are my new favourite source of interiors inspiration

These amazing dollhouses are my new favourite source of interiors inspiration

I can’t decide which I love more: the gorgeous designs, or how adorably tiny they are.

Anyone who owned Sylvanian Families as a child will know the particular pleasure that a teeny tiny version of an everyday object gives. I can’t explain why, but something in miniature gives me a little thrill, and the more mundane the object, the better.

A normal-sized spoon? Yawn. An itsy-bitsy tiny little spoon? Hook it to my veins. A fruit bowl the size of my fingernail? I love it. A bed that could be made for a mouse? Incredible.

So imagine my delight when our digital editor Lauren pointed me in the direction of the gorgeous dollhouses that can be found on Instagram. People who must have the patience of saints painstakingly construct tiny homes with interiors so gorgeous you might not realise they’re not real homes at first glance.

Tiny things and interiors inspiration was the crossover event I didn’t know I needed, and if you want to dive in too, keep scrolling for tiny rooms that you’ll wish you were small enough to live in.

Kitchens

These dollhouses have everything that’s on your dream kitchen wishlist: herringbone floors, patterned tiles, and gorgeous freestanding furniture.

Living rooms

Whether you prefer a minimalist space, a Mediterranean-inspired retreat, or want wallpaper to set the tone, there’s a dollhouse out there that will have you taking notes.

Bedrooms

They also have bedroom inspiration to offer, from adorable children’s rooms to a grown-up space that you’d love to retire to at the end of the day.

Bathrooms

Yes, they even have bathrooms, and they’re probably more luxurious that yours.
