A round-up of our favourite new Irish jewellery designers to follow… 

Not only is Irish design is having a major moment internationally, our jewellery-making community is also having a renaissance. We can’t move for fresh talent cropping up on the scene, and thanks to social media they are easier than ever to discover.

IMAGE Irish Fashion Businessperson of the Year award winner Chupi has set the bar high for her contemporaries with her swoon-worthy Instagram feed (see pretty picture at the top of this post) and now promising new Irish jewellery designers are following in her fashionable footsteps. Here, we bring you just a few of our new Insta-favourites from the Irish jewellery world (in no particular order):

1. Emmie Lou Jewellery“Know first who you are, then adorn yourself accordingly.” Emmie Lou’s website quotes this famous phrase from Greek philosopher Epictetus. In keeping with this thinking, she designs unique statement jewellery with a strong sense of self. Expect bold, bright colours, sharp lines and abstract geometric shapes.

2. Dana Jewellery. This creative brand fashions pieces from recycled vinyl records as well as other upcycled materials like acrylic, silver and aluminium. Designer Anne-Louise’s Instagram is a joy to behold, with glimpses of her work, life and inspiration.

3. Delighted Jewellery. New to Instagram, Brighton-based Delighted Jewellery was set up by an Irish expat late last year and has already released a colourful and minimal collection. Their delicate items are handmade with love using high-quality, gold-filled components, ethically sourced gemstones and Czech glass beads.

4. Small & Me Jewellery. Featured in the current issue of IMAGE, Small & Me‘s innovative chewable jewellery line is designed for mothers with teething babies. Crafted from food-grade silicone in contemporary shapes and colours, they are easy to clean and fun to wear.

5. Skelligs Jewellery. Inspired by “the jagged drama” of the Skellig Islands and the natural beauty of the spectacular Atlantic coast of Ireland, Skelligs Jewellery is made from sterling silver and Irish slate rock sourced from the Valentia Slate Quarry in Kerry. Each piece is crafted by hand using traditional techniques.
