Audrey Hepburn’s Granddaughter Signs With Agency

Audrey Hepburn’s grandaughter Emma Ferrer charmed an unsuspecting world last Autumn when she appeared on the subscribers cover of Harper’s Bazaar’s September issue. We, along with our readers, were stunned at her poise for the shoot wherein she teamed up with photographer Michael Avedon, the grandson of Richard Avedon, one of Hepburn’s favourite collaborators. Not only did she channel the timeless fashion that made her grandmother an icon, she firmly established herself as a face to watch.

And now it looks like Ms. Ferrer is launching a bona fide modeling career. The Telegraph reports that the former ballerina, a career her granny also pursued, has signed a modeling contract with Storm Model Management. Storm is renowned for its seriously credible and famous roster of faces, which include Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. Talk about an assured future. She’s already speaking to the press about the designers that interest her – Lanvin, Carolina Herrera and Ralph Lauren.

Ferrer will move to New York in a bid to further her career. At the moment she lives in Florence, where the 20-year-old is studying at the Florence Academy of Art. She’ll continue her studies at a satellite campus in Jersey City.

However, will Ferrer find herself living in Audrey’s shadow and starring in neverending homage shoots, despite having never met her grandmother? When it comes to her famous heritage the young model told The Telegraph she embraces Hepburn’s legacy, especially her charitable endeavours with UNICEF, “She had a desire to help people and make the world more beautiful, and I undeniably feel the same….When it’s these kinds of comparisons, no I’m never bothered, but rather honoured.” Ferrer’s family, primarily her father Sean Hepburn Ferrer, continue Audrey’s humanitarian efforts, with all the family involved in philanthrophic efforts the world over.

In fact, it looks like Ferrer is on track for a multi-faceted career, “I am devoted to art, painting, and entering into the world of aesthetics as a whole.? The idea of a model not just modeling is something her Storm colleague Cara Delevingne is pioneering with her moves into acting and music, as well as walking in high-profile shows for Chanel and Victoria’s Secret.

So a short stint at ballet, some modelling? Will Emma Ferrer be cast in movies anytime soon? “I think it’s a beautiful art form and you can explore so much about yourself, so I am very interested in it,? she admitted in the same interview.
