The Dean Hotel in Dublin played host to the Persil Irish Fashion Awards 2016 last night, where Ireland’s brightest fashionistas competed to win €10,000. As well as being crowned the winner, Niamh Mannion will also be awarded the €10,000 bursary, one of the highest fashion design bursaries in Europe.

Persil invited fashion design students around the country to enter the awards by submitting a sketchbook of designs inspired by this year’s theme, ?Bedtime Stories.’ The always-stylish Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon?judged the proceedings, then assessed the sixty plus students who entered on several aspects of design including, creativity, innovation, and interpretation of the brief. They then narrowed the entries to just eight finalists.

The eight finalists of the Persil Irish Fashion Awards 2016 are students from the National College of Art and Design, Limerick School of Art and Design and Griffith College Dublin.

Irish Snapchat royalty James Kavanagh and his William Murray supplied delicious treats from their new food venture ?Currabinny?, and other attendees on the night included: Madeline Mulqueen, Orla McConnon, and Noel Sutton.
