Zayn Releases First Solo Single

The heartbreak continues. Not a wet week after leaving One Direction, Zayn Malik has released his first solo single, a soulful ballad called, ?I Won’t Mind. ?It’s ultra-gentle (dare we say almost a caress), with soft acoustic guitar and soul-searching, romantic lyrics- the clearest indication so far of what he meant when he said ?It’s not that I’ve turned my back on them or anything, it’s just that I just can’t do that anymore because it’s not the real me.?

If this is the ‘real me?, well, Zayn, we like it. No doubt diehard fans are already combing through the lyrics for clues about the state of the Perrie union and life post-OD but for now, judged on its own merits, it’s a grand debut. ?Listen here.
