Vintage Homeware Hotspots

Dublin may be poorer in antiques and vintage fare than its European sisters, but you can stop daydreaming about Parisian flea markets right now. In our September/October issue just out, Hydrangea Girl‘s Alex Carberry waxes lyrical about the thrills of thrifting.

With an established arts and antiques quarter on Francis Street and new fleamarkets and vintage fairs popping up every year, we have a lot going on, and it’s only getting better.

Above: The Brocante Market

The Co-Op, 12 Newmarket, Dublin 8 is at the heart of all things retro in South Dublin City, with three events every month.

The Brocante, third Sunday of every month. Head here for great retro pieces?and cool handmades. Kirk Modern and Trentanove Lighting both have stands here.

The Dublin Flea Market, the last Sunday of every month. Prepare to root, haggle and uncover hidden gems. Local artists create gorgeous posters for each market, which you can pick up for just €5.

Ha?Penny Flea, every Saturday at The Grand Social?on Lower Liffey Street, Dublin 1. A fun mish mash of clothes, accessories, grub and homewares.

Merchants Market, Merchants Yard, East Wall Road, Dublin 3, weekends and some weekdays. Arrive early on a Saturday morning for the real treasures, as they go fast. Great for vintage crockery and a proper car boot buzz. Look out for some finds from here in our current issue!

Blackrock Market, open every Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday Monday, Blackrock Village, Co. Dublin. Books, bric-a-brac, buns and the odd bit of furniture?? we’re still raging we didn’t pick up these pretty cups.
