5 Festival Food Favourites To Taste This Summer

There’s more to festivals these days than music, so we’ve lined up our favourite food vendors, from vans to buses – all serving up some serious treats this festival season?

1 The Gourmet Kitchen

Have to try: Flame-grilled 28-day dry-aged sirloin-steak sandwich served on a toasted ciabatta with fresh rocket, your choice of sauce and chips. Yum!

Locations (around Dublin city): Wednesdays, Spencer Dock; Thursdays, Mespil Road and Merrion Square; Fridays, Grand Canal Dock and Sandyford.

Festivals: Body & Soul, Electric Picnic and Tramore Promenade Festival.

2 The Big Blue Bus

Have to try: The pear, parma ham and gorgonzola pizza! Get your pizza and a pint for a tenner between 5pm and 7pm at The Shaw.

Location: The Bernard Shaw, 11-12 South Richmond Street, Dublin 2.

Festivals: Body & Soul (more to be confirmed).

3 K Chido Mexico

Have to try: Pulled-pork tacos, three soft tortillas with the house chipotle and salsa verde, citrus marinade, chunks of avocado and lime, all served with Mexican rice and refried beans.

Location: K Chido Mexico, 18 Chancery St, Dublin 7.

Festivals: Electric Picnic.

4 Burger Republic

Have to try: Cashel blue cheese burger with caramelised onion and hot sauce.

Locations (around Dublin city): Wednesdays, Spencer Dock; Thursdays, Blanchardstown, Mespil Road and Merrion Square; Fridays, Sandyford and Percy Place.

Festivals: Body & Soul and Electric Picnic.

5 Kerala Kitchen

Have to try: Kerala chicken coconut curry with curry leaves and mustard seeds.

Locations (around Dublin city): Wednesdays, Spencer Dock and East Point; Thursdays, Mespil Road; Fridays, Sandyford and Percy Place.

Festivals: Body & Soul, Longitude and Electric Picnic.
