What to look forward to at the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year awards

With the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year awards only a few days away, here's what guests can look forward to on the big night

It’s almost time! The much-anticipated IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2024 will happen this Friday, May 10, and we look forward to celebrating Ireland’s leading businesswomen.

Women from all industries will be recognised for their leadership skills, expertise and talent across 13 categories, alongside our Lifetime Achievement Award winner and the overall IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Award winner.

Here are just a few of the things guests can look forward to on the sold-out night in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road (if you cannot be there on the night, follow @image.ie and #BWOTY24 on social to see some of the action).

Time to mingle

The electric energy of the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards is now legendary. It is in this atmosphere that powerful connections are forged between women from across the country as they have the opportunity to network, chat, laugh and dance. Ireland’s most influential business leaders in finance, tech, science, sustainability, beauty, construction, fashion and more will be among the 950 guests, as well as the influential judges of this year’s awards, and everyone is ready to celebrate and support each other.

Time to be inspired

Anyone who has attended the awards in the past knows how inspiring it is to hear our award winners speak on the night. From surprising business insights to heart-warming acknowledgements, their speeches always give us quotes and nuggets of wisdom to take home. We know there will be plenty of this on Friday night.

We also have the pleasure of witnessing Anne Heraty, a woman of immense significance in Irish business and the first female head of an Irish-listed company, to receive the IMAGE PwC Lifetime Achievement Award. Anne is the ninth Irish woman to receive this prestigious award.

Time to be entertained

Imelda May

The entertainment factor of this year’s awards is off the charts! Our headline act is one of Ireland’s most acclaimed musicians, with a style ranging from rockabilly revival and jazz to pop-rock and soul, as well as a gifted poet, presenter and actor. We are delighted that Imelda May will bring her unique energy, talent and appeal to the night, with a special performance not to be missed.

The talented trio of The Dream Divas will bring their swinging 60s glamour to the night with their usual sass and style and the awards will be hosted by our talented and magnetic co-hosts IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris and Irish journalist Richard Chambers. The duo were such a highlight last year that we had to bring them back together.

Time to be treated

The black-tie evening begins with a drinks reception with i-stil38 cocktails and M&S Prosecco before guests are treated to a delicious three-course dinner, accompanied by M&S wine.

Every guest will leave with an enviable Gift Bag from The White Company and will be in with a chance to win amazing prizes during the night.

Time to give

To support those affected by the humanitarian crisis, PwC Ireland is donating €10,000 to the Irish Red Cross (IRC) humanitarian appeal. We are inviting attendees and supporters of the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards to also support the Irish Red Cross and make their donations here.

Time for more

Now in their 16th year, these awards have an incredible alumni of women in business who have been conceptualising innovative ideas; founding global businesses; providing employment; supporting teams; challenging norms; and playing leading roles in Ireland’s economic success. We look forward to welcoming new faces to this inspiring group on Friday.

The awards are sponsored by Key Capital, DS Automobiles, Glenveagh, Kuehne + Nagel, Pinergy, Eversheds Sutherland, Ornua and Paul Sheeran, and in association with Marks & Spencer, Movement, Enterprise Ireland and istil-38. The shortlist for the 2024 IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards can be viewed here.
