It should be easy to choose the right skincare, but in terms of performance, results will always speak for themselves. Melanie Morris puts L’Oreal Age Perfect to the test.

Skincare is a complex issue. There’s so much to choose from, and the demands we put on products seem to grow in line with the myriad concerns we want them to address. Of course, we want formulations that will work “under the bonnet”, delivering long-term support and solutions but, increasingly, we also want gorgeous, instant results. On top of that, I want a home system that’s straightforward, and one that will enhance the benefits of in-clinic treatments, helping boost and prolong my skin gains. No pressure so.

Designed for mature skin, I’ve found the L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect range manages to tick both instant and evolving timelines, while targeting concerns including skin clarity, discolouration, age spots, skin laxity and overall texture. And while I never see myself in the “advanced age” category of skincare, there’s no denying that some of those issues sound a little too close to home to ignore.

I’m a sucker for a good moisturiser, wanting something that feels nourishing on the skin and adds plumpness and glow. The L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Re-Hydrating Day Cream instantly brought that feeling of suppleness, and certainly helped me put my best face forward. As I continued to use it, my skin certainly felt firmer, and those contours I work hard to protect, were maintained.

The L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Day Cream contains collagen fractions, which penetrate the skin surface to add bounce and integrity… like adding stuffing in a mattress! Melanin blockers in the formula then target those dark age spots, which seemed to diminish over the course of a month. The results led me to seek out the serum in the range, the L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Serum Le Duo, a bi-phase product that pumps out two formulations at once, containing antioxidant vitamins B and C for glow, and collagen peptides to turn back time. Two steps to this complete skincare regime, multiple issues targeted. What’s not to love?
