The spring-ready trench coats to see you through to summer

A trench coat for spring? Not groundbreaking, but they are a must. The ultimate in chic, transitional dressing, a trench coat is a wardrobe staple I absolutely couldn’t live without. In fact, I spend much of the winter months lamenting the fact that it’s too cold for me to wear mine… so you can bet as soon as the first flowers peek their head above ground, I’ll be packing my puffa away.

Why do I love mine so? Well, that’s a question with many answers – but one reason is its versatility. It looks as good over loungewear as it does an LBD and there’s no quicker way to dress up a matching tracksuit. Timeless, wearable and so comfortable, you’ll wonder why you didn’t invest in one sooner.

Shop our edit of the best trench coats to see you through spring and summer 2023 below.

*Top tip: Would highly recommend frequenting your local charity shop too – I picked up both a camel trench and a black trench for pennies last year and they’re by far the most worn items in my wardrobe. The men’s section is an absolute treasure trove of good finds!
