The best new beauty buys in July

Ready to give your beauty routine a sunny refresh? From cult hero hair brands landing in Ireland to sun-on-skin cream bronzers and summer-drenched scents, here’s the best of what July has to offer in beauty launches.

With over 200 Vogue covers under his belt, a client list that includes everyone from Princess Diana to Kate Moss, and an annual backstage catwalk roster of every fashion house from Chanel to Fendi, Sam McKnight’s haircare range was the only brand left worth travelling abroad for. Now Ireland officially has everything, as it’s landed in Brown Thomas – Cool Girl is a must-try (he calls it “Kate Moss in a can” – say less) and has just landed in a new lightweight spray formula for voluminous, thicker-looking hair.

Aimee Connolly’s new creamy liner and clear gloss multi-purpose duo – with a shea butter and raspberry seed oil lip balm formula and easy-to-blend liner in one handy pen – is a travel beauty staple, in six suits-all shades.

If you need foaminess to feel fully cleansed, Dermalogica’s new cleanser with sea buckthorn oil turns from a gel oil to soft foam, leaving skin soft and clean without any tight feeling.

Bloom’s white floral has been intensified in the deeper, darker, Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum Intense, an earthier evening counterpart to the original’s light floral, with moss, jasmine, tuberose and coconut.

There are three new intense shades of YSL’s Rouge Volupté Shine and three perfect Rouge Volupté Candy Glaze nudes to add to your lip wardrobe of the formula’s balm and gloss hybrid oil–in–stick formula.

Armani’s Luminous Silk’s radiant glow has been transferred to a new addition to the range, Luminous Silk Glow Blush, with seven silky shades of soft-focus tones from petal red to beige.

For fig lovers, Infusion de Figue by Prada is a green and fruity blend of orange, fig and galbanum for a light, sunny scent to see you through summer.

The new Tom Ford Private Blend Azure Lime, 50ml, €240, housed in a poolside blue flacon, encapsulates a fresh and citrusy combination of lime and sandalwood, which according to Tom Ford, recalls the “poolside glamour of a Mediterranean villa.”

Inspired by cryotherapy, the new Clarins Cryo-Flash Cream-Mask cools skin with a menthol derivative, while evening primrose extract strengthens the skin barrier and targets signs of ageing, for a lifting effect in a (cryo)flash.

Lancôme’s beloved serum-infused Le 8 Hypnôse Mascara now comes in three new undertones – sapphire, rich berry red and peacock green – for an easy replacement for bold eyeliner that suits all eye colours while nourishing lashes.

You can buy Barbie everything right now, from an overnight stay in her Dream House to her wardrobe (down to her cowboy outfits) including her hairbrush, thanks to the Limited Edition Tangle Teezer x Barbie collaboration, for gentle detangling and less breakage for shower-fresh hair.

Charlotte Tilbury has bottled an oxygen facial with her new Magic Hydrator Mist, with a blend of hydrating, brightening and replenishing ingredients for revived, radiant skin in a spritz.

Nars has turned their best-selling Laguna shade into a range of bronzing staples, from bronzing powders to eyeshadow quads, lip balm and a bronzing cream that melts into the skin to create a realistic sun-kissed glow.

MAC’s famous 90s green gloss is back, as a new lightweight lip plumper that’s both gloss and balm, in a range of ten super-shine tints that alter their colour to suit you best, like a mood ring.

Bare by Vogue has added a Hydrating Facial Mist to their line-up of sun-kissed staples, a 2-in1 skincare and make-up mist that hydrates and nourishes, for dewy radiance and luminous finish.

Sunday Riley has launched its first serum powered by niacinamide, a hero ingredient for redness, breakouts, and oily skin. The 10% Niacinamide Serum reveals clearer skin over time and supports the skin’s natural moisture barrier and evens skin tone while lightening dark spots and discoloration for brighter, clearer, and soothed skin.
