Stylist Isabel Gleeson on her favourite fashion finds

Fashion and event stylist, colour consultant, personal shopper, and the owner of preloved wedding dress business ReBride, Isabel Gleeson of Styled by Isabel wears many hats. On a mission to help streamline her clients’ style, make their shopping experience easier, and provide a synopsis of which colours suit them based on hair shade, skin tone and eye colour, this Irish stylist provides an all-encompassing snapshot of your style story.

Here, we get an exclusive glimpse into her enviable wardrobe.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe my style as feminine, fun and mostly quite timeless. I don’t follow trends too closely for my own wardrobe, I wear what I love and what I feel best and most confident in. I mainly wear midi dresses, they are my weakness!

The go-to shoe/trainers

For coming into summer, a chunky sandal. I love how flattering and comfortable they are. I got a fabulous silver pair from Dune this year, definitely a Chanel dupe, and I know that I will wear them all the time! I like how versatile a chunky sandal is, they look great with jeans and dresses! I think that the trend is definitely here to stay for SS23.

The does-it-all coat

I recently bought the Toteme wool-blend jacket with the built-in scarf. It was a 30th birthday gift to myself and a very considered purchase that I will get a lot of wear out of. I have loved it for a couple of seasons and I feel it is a true does-it-all piece which can be dressed up or down. It has worked well in spring with dresses and in winter, I will layer up the piece. I love how unique it is and I always get so many compliments when I wear it, a true statement piece!

The perfect jeans

I always recommend the Arket straight leg jeans to my clients! The beauty of them is that they have a gorgeous shape but they also have stretch making them easy to wear and comfortable. They are also easy to style and look great with trainers for the weekend or with heels for a night out. I also really rate the River Island denim at the moment! They are a great price-point and feel like good quality.

The must-have knitwear

I think for knitwear staples, Sezane is the most beautiful brand. They offer amazing yarns and a huge selection of colours. They are pieces you will have in your wardrobe for many seasons to come. The Amance cardigan is next on my wish list!

My dream knitwear piece is a Loewe Anagram cropped wool sweater. It is so simple yet the gorgeous iconic logo brings it to life!

The everyday jewellery

Well, I always have my engagement and wedding ring on! Then apart from that, I get a lot of my earrings from Avoca Handweavers – they’re so affordable and great quality! I got pearl, teardrop Chupi earrings for my wedding and I wear them every week. I figured it’s better to get lots of wear out of them rather than have them sitting in a box, they are a forever piece.

The wear-everywhere handbag

In summer, I am heading into my fourth year with my Loewe basket bag. I have gotten so much use out of it. I adore their new Paula’s Ibiza Basket Bag. For every season, I have a JW Anderson bag that goes with everything, I love all of their handbags!

The Sunday cosy casual look

Sporty and Rich for comfortable yet well-put-together pieces! I love a matching tracksuit from brands such as Rotate Birger Christensen or Life of Ease! Pair that with a nice handbag and good trainers for the perfect Sunday fit!

The ultimate pyjamas

I love pyjamas and have to stop myself from buying more! I think that the Sleeper feather pyjamas are the ultimate pair. I recently bought nightwear from Djerf Avenue and was so impressed by the quality! It is a gorgeous brand.

The party look essential

Wear whatever you feel fabulous in! I love a sequin dress. Metallics and sequins usually fade away after Christmas but this year, they will have a huge presence in SS23. Think pastel sequins and silver metallic dresses for summer!

The most treasured piece

My most treasured piece is my Alemais dress which I got from my husband for my birthday last year. It is such a special piece to me! I choose dresses over accessories and bags which people usually treasure more!

The wishlist item

A Vampire’s Wife dress! I adore them, the cut and the fabric. They are my dream dresses! One day…

The vintage shop to know

I used to live in London and I think that all of the vintage shops in the Shoreditch area are the best!

I adore Millie Mackintosh’s style and her dress collection. I also love Charlotte Collins, the SheerLuxe editor’s fashion choices, stunning! From Ireland, I love following Jodie Wood, I think she was one of the first people I ever followed on Instagram back in the day and I love her style!

The beauty essentials / self-care ritual

I just adore having a good skincare routine! Summer Friday’s is my go-to skincare brand. The jetlag mask provides so much hydration. I also adore the Elemis cleansing balm. I could spend all day on the Space NK website.
