#ShopIrish spotlight: Pines & Co provide an Irish Christmas tree delivery service and seasonal foliage

Supporting Irish business is a passion of ours at Image, and it’s easy with so many entrepreneurial and innovative Irish businesses to buy from. From now until Christmas we are highlighting Irish businesses or business people that we are excited about. Today it’s Irish Christmas tree delivery service and foliage purveyors, Pines & Co.

What is your name, and what is your business?
Rob Beresford; Pines & Co … We provide a sustainably grown Irish Christmas tree delivery service and seasonal foliage.

What is your mission?
This will be our second year in business. Our mission is to become the festive supplier of choice to the good people of Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow.

Of what part of your business are you proudest?
Hiring our seasonal staff from the local communities we serve and the fact that, along with our partners, we plant three trees for every one tree harvested, making our service as sustainable as possible.

Who are your business heroes?
Elon Musk – undoubtedly wacky, but undeniably a genius.

How have you found the last six months?
As we’re only a seasonal business we’ve thankfully been spared the worst of 2020. We’re also seeing that despite the difficult circumstances people are absolutely determined to enjoy their Christmas this year, which obviously is good news for our business.

What keeps you positive?
The smile we put on our customer’s faces and the excitement we give to the younger members of their family when we install the Christmas tree.

What new perspective have you gained from 2020?
Everything can change in an instant – it’s important to be be able to pivot and take the rough with the smooth.

Best/worst moment from 2020?
Best moment was definitely the birth of my son. Worst moment? Not being able to see family members during both lock-downs along with the impact Covid-19 has had on so many people.

How will you celebrate Christmas this year?
Hopefully, as ever, with family, good food, and a warm, crackling fire.

Another Irish business you want to shine a spotlight on?
EQUI360. They offer a cloud-based equine management platform designed specifically to meet the 21st-century challenges of those working in the Irish horse racing and bloodstock industry. Their technology allows equine professionals to manage their yard, business, and owner communications all via an easy-to-use app.

Anything else you would like to let us know?
Pines & Co provide a full-service Christmas tree experience, which includes the delivery, installation, stand rental, and January collection of a freshly cut Nordmann Fir which we then chip and recycle as livestock bedding. Avoca customers can also order our trees in-store at their locations in Ballsbridge, Kilmacanogue, Monkstown, Mount Usher, and Rathcoole. You can also get in contact with us directly via our website or on Facebook or Instagram.
