Real Weddings: Jeanni and Greg’s intimate Dublin city wedding
In the heart of Dublin city, Jeanni and Greg O'Shea searched for a venue that combined accessibility with elegance. The College Green Hotel proved to be the perfect choice, setting the scene for an intimate celebration with their closest family and friends.
THE COUPLE
Greg O’Shea, media personality, and Jeanni O’Shea (previously Jeanni Mulder), model and pilates instructor.
THEY LIVE
In Dublin.
THE VENUE
We wanted somewhere in Dublin that was easily accessible for our guests, but was still a beautiful, high-class setting for a wedding. The College Green Hotel took such amazing care of us in the build-up and on the day. We felt very safe in their hands, and everything was stunning and went smoothly.
Later that evening, we had a small gathering in House Dublin with some more friends and wider family. That’s actually where we had our first date, so that was a very full circle moment.

THEY MET
I was solo travelling in Bali and met some Irish girls who knew of Greg, and suggested that I message him on Instagram. I did, he responded, and we spoke over text message and FaceTime for two months before I visited Greg in Dublin. Two and a half years later, we got married.
THE PROPOSAL
We were in South Africa for Christmas with my family, but for New Year’s Eve, the two of us went away to a safari lodge. Greg had been travelling with the engagement ring for a whole month, hoping I wouldn’t find it. Greg had asked my parents’ permission over Christmas, but it was difficult to get time alone with them because I was with them all the time. He managed to do it, though! He even managed to treat me to a summer shopping spree and convinced me to get my nails done with my mom, so we could get some quality time together, as I don’t see her often.
Fast forward to NYE, and he told me to get dressed up and create a celebratory Instagram reel for the countdown, but this is nothing out of the ordinary for us, as we are both active on social media. We set it up, started the countdown, and I shouted “Happy New Year” just as Greg went down on one knee.
THE DRESS AND THE SUIT
My dress was a strapless corset style with beautiful, floral lace detailing. I bought two dresses online, and when they both arrived, I immediately knew which one was going to be it. Greg’s suit was from Louis Copeland.
THE CEREMONY
Civil Registration Office, Dublin.
THE DECOR
I did it myself. We wanted something simple but beautiful, so we chose a lot of candles and small glass vases with dried flowers inside. The tones were all very neutral and earthy. I designed the menus on Canva with the same colours and used a beautiful crest design around G & J at the top. When it came to name place cards, we wanted to do something special because the day was so intimate, so we wrote a personalised message to each guest.
THEIR TOP TIPS
Always make sure your wedding day feels like something you want and not what others would expect you to have.
THEY WISH THEY HAD
More of Jeanni’s South African close friends and family there to celebrate.
THEIR BEST MOMENTS
Jeanni: Obviously, marrying my best friend, Greg, but apart from that, a lot of my family and friends could not make it to Ireland for the wedding, and Greg got them all to make a video for the big day. He surprised me by playing the videos during the speeches. It was so unexpected and special.
Greg: Hearing Jeanni’s vows and tying the knot in front of our immediate families. It was very special.
THE FIRST DANCE SONG
No traditional first dance. Just lots of partying with our closest friends and family.
THE CREW
Venue: The College Green Hotel. Tux: Louis Copeland. Make-Up: Sarah Dinneen (@smomakeup). Rings: Paul Sheeran Jewellers. Cake: Therese Hunt.
