Merch from Irish artists to shop now and show your support

T-shirt, tote bags, hoodies and vinyl — every purchase goes a hell of a lot further to funding your favourite artists’ creative careers than a few Spotify streams. Here’s some of our favourite merch to shop now…

Did you know that Spotify pays their artists just about 0.004 cent for each stream their songs get? Yeah, it’s a pretty grim reality. So, regardless of how many playlists you put your favourite Irish artists on, or how high they rank in your Spotify Wrapped, there’s still a ways to go in terms of providing tangible support for the people who make the music that you love.

Buying tickets to their shows is a given. Bums in seats and bodies in crowds send a signal to the powers that be that these people are on the rise, attracting audiences, and on track for great things. Aside from that, merchandise is the next best thing you can do.

First of all, it’s money in their pocket that can go towards creating new sounds and experimenting with new directions, but it’s also like free advertising — you’re spreading the good word to the people you walk past on your way through town. And, selfishly, it might just help you make connections in your own life, meet like-minded people who enjoy the same sounds.

So, whether it’s to add to your vinyl collection or your wardrobe, here are some top picks of Irish artist merch to shop now…
