This Kate Spade Campaign is Perfection

This Kate Spade Campaign is Perfection

Iris Apfel, Karlie Kloss, and a park bench. And before that Anna Kendrick was locked out at Christmas. Kate Spade New York’s campaigns have been killing it.

Yesterday the accessories brand unveiled their 2015 Spring collection with campaign images featuring Anna Wintour’s It Girl and Taylor Swift’s BFF, model Karlie Kloss, and 93-year-old style icon Irish Apfel. In these colourful and fun images, the duo fashionably relaxes on a park bench in New York City with their pink Kate Spade handbags to hand. With contrasting clothes, Apfel is a collage of clashing patterns and colours while Kloss channels the WASP vibe that has seen her own the American modeling industry, this campaign has earned the top spot in our favourite fashion campaign of late.

Apfel is undisputedly amazing and has been a patron of street style blogs for years. She is also starring with trendsetter Tavi Gevinson – the wundergirl behind Rookie who’s steadily building an acting career – in an Alexis Bittar campaign. Kloss meanwhile is one of the strongest players in the modeling world, and she has nearly 2 million followers on Instagram. Talk about Kate Spade nailing a broad demographic.

Just before Christmas Anna Kendrick shot her first video for the accessories brand. Landing Kendrick was a huge coup. Not only is the young actress after finishing up press for Into the Woods, but Pitch Perfect 2, the sequel to the beloved sassy a cappella smash hit is in cinemas this spring.

Super likeable brand ambassadors with a penchant for starring in popular movies and a thoroughly hilarious twitter?

Someone needs to send the marketing department a punchy and pink bouquet of Kate Spade-esque tulips.

Kate Spade’s recent advertising victories are more important for the brand than ever. In recent days the company announced the closure of offshoot Kate Spade Saturday and menswear brand Jack Spade. Hopefully these quirky campaigns will see some new customers follow through on some handbag dreams.
