The 10 fashion trends Princess Diana brought us first

Give your pandemic wardrobe — you know, your Zoom collars and walking outfits — a royal update with the unwavering fashion trends of the year; anything Princess Diana wore in the Eighties.

Now that the noise has finally died down about All Things Diana sine Emma Corrin’s portrayal of her in The Crown, it’s all amping up again thanks to the first look at Kristen Stewart’s impeccable similarity to her in an upcoming film.

With the last season of The Crown, Diana became a reinvigorated style icon. In just a few short months, which we globally spent entirely from home, she sparked the return of everything from her ruddy, windburn flush blush to vibrantly coloured slogan jumpers.

Now, three months since The Crown season four started on Netflix, Diana Mania persists. She’s there, in the cap and blazer Kaia Gerber wore on the Celine catwalk. She’s there too, in the oversized Zoom collars all over the high street, in the pearls on the Vice President, in the gingham on the Instagram influencers and in the bicycle shorts and oversized sweaters in Kendall Jenner paparazzi pictures.

It’s a testament to her enduring, timeless style that she’s still creating trends. Here are ten trending looks Princess Diana brought us first.
