Short white wedding dresses we’d say ‘I Do’ in

For the bride who marches to the beat of her own drum, these are the shorter length wedding dresses we’re coveting this season.

When it comes to bridal wear, it’s becoming increasingly common for women to throw out the rule book altogether. From feathers and blush pink hues to asymmetrical details and bridal shorts (though the verdict’s still out on whether anyone other than Olivia Palermo can pull this off) – the notion of what is deemed traditional and appropriate has been irrevocably challenged.

Granted, it’s somewhat of a retro throwback to wed in a mini-dress: tea-length was all the rage in the 1950s, only to be replaced by thigh-skimming frocks during the ‘Swinging Sixties’. Fast forward a few decades, past the shiny satin numbers of the 1980s and streamlined 1990s column gowns, and you’ll find that in the ’00s, anything goes.

Therefore, it feels thoroughly modern to contradict what seems to be the most prevalent trend of opting for fitted dresses in floor-sweeping lengths. In fact, if anything, the style piquing our interest right now seems to combine both the old and the new;  Elizabethan-era detailing in ultra-modern shorter silhouettes.

“Shakespeare chic” was deemed a predominant trend at the most recent New York Bridal Fashion Week. Think high collars, corsets, puff sleeves and intricate lace and you’ve got the idea.

Now that we’ve gone and found the ideal dresses for you, you just need to find the Romeo to your Juliet. Although, that’s always been the hard part, hasn’t it?
