The Shoes I thought I’d Never Buy

The Shoes I thought I’d Never Buy

Sliders. I don’t know why, but I’ve always had a dislike of them. It’s irrational, as I’m a big fan of flat shoes and wear them far more often than heels, but sliders…? I see a pair?and I think chunky and ugly rather than chic and comfortable. That was until I tried them. Paired with a loose trouser leg and a fitted waist, they felt modern and fresh, and as easy to walk in as slippers. Now I’m wondering what’s not to like?

Here are the slider shoes I’m lusting after now.

I like the glittery texture and fold-over detail of these?Zara sliders. They’re subtle but a little bit dressy too.

Shiny sliders, €19.95 at Zara

The gorgeous rich burgundy red of these leather sliders add a really luxe feel to these Chloe sliders. I’d wear these beauties to dinner in summer rather than wasting them by the pool!

Leather sliders, Chloe, €420 at matchesfashion.com

I like the contrast between the pleat detailing and rubber material offered by these H&M sliders. Perfect for pool-side, but with a little added glamour.

Rubber sliders, €19.99 at H&M

These River Island sliders offer a subtle way to incorporate print into your outfit. Again, I like the contrast between the delicate embroidery and the chunky sole. It feels very high fashion.

Floral embroidered sliders, €37 at River Island

These platform sliders from Warehouse are great for those days when you want a bit of height and stature, but you want absolute comfort too. These will help to toughen up summer dresses and seasonal florals.

Leather buckle sandals, €64 at Warehouse
