Outfit Ideas To Make You Think Of Spring Not Snow

Outfit Ideas To Make You Think Of Spring Not Snow

As lovely as this current winter wonderland is, I’m getting restless for blue skies and shards of sunlight. In the hope that this sudden cold spell is winter’s grand finale, and in the optimistic anticipation of brighter days ahead, I’ve pulled together some outfit ideas to put a spring in your step, even if the weather doesn’t just yet.

This outfit sums up what I love so much about spring. It’s warm enough to forego a coat (allowing you to really show of an outfit) and mild enough for a pair of pumps, sans socks or tights, but it’s not so hot that great tailoring looks unseasonal or too formal.

I love the tactile nature of sweaters and spring is the ideal time to throw on a textured knit as it will protect against any chill that’s still in the air. But in a beautiful shade of pink like this, it looks fresh and seasonal.

A simple but fabulous dress is all you need in spring. No other layers are required. Just choose something that has coverage like the piece below. Baring too much flesh too early in the season never looks stylish because, firstly, everyone will know you’re cold (never a good look) and, secondly, dressing for the weather is as important as dressing for the specific occasion. Get either wrong and your whole look will fall apart.

No need to bury a white shirt beneath layers of knits and blazers in spring. This classic and understatedly chic piece comes into it’s own when worn with a funky skirt and a relaxed crossbody bag. It’s a smart and sophisticated look that feels utterly fresh and modern.
