Spring requires a fresh sartorial approach to, well, everything really. By early April, regardless of the weather, colours need to be brightened and lightened and silhouettes softened. This is where jumpsuits come into play. They’re smart and sophisticated but offer a less fussy alternative to traditional suits and smart tailoring. Here are four that will put a spring in your step.
Polka dots are the new stripes, and they bring the same kind of freshness to your look as nautical chic does. This piece is tailored enough to suit the office but will look equally good worn with trainers and a cardigan at the weekend.

I love the delicate but impactful print of this H&M jumpsuit, and how the silhouette creates a beautifully strong shoulder line that mirrors the proportions of the trousers. This is a wear-anywhere piece.

You can be bolder with prints in spring/summer so take the opportunity to experiment. This tropical-print jumpsuit is less dominating because it’s anchored by black. It very much has the feel of a pyjama suit so if you haven’t worn a jumpsuit before this might be a good one to start with.

This jumpsuit is actually denim but it looks smart enough to wear to the office. I’d add a pop of colour with a scarf or some interesting footwear as I think the blue on blue stripe could look a little dreary if left to its own devices.
