Award season is now officially in full swing, and though the main talk is that of excitement ahead of the Golden Globes this weekend, stars of the silver screen ventured out in fashionable form to this year’s American Film Institute (AFI) Awards tonight (or this afternoon if you’re overseas). Though it is one of the less prominent award shows, those that are on the Oscars circuit must be seen to diligently make the rounds to all events, as is the season. The good news for us spectators during all this is that we get to speculate endlessly over winners and seriously divine garments.

Regarding fashion, our favourites included Cate Blanchett, Claire Danes, and January Jones (whose beauty look was also flawless – that red lip!), who all wowed in creamy ensembles. And we have to give a hat tip to Carol star Rooney Mara, who managed to pull off a crop top with elegant grace. ?The cast of Mad Men also reunited though we weren’t quite sure of Brie Larson’s feminine Gucci florals, the 26-year-old actress has much to smile about following her’recent?Golden Globe nod. Her film Room was also honoured as one of the top ten movies of 2015. She was joined by young co-star Jacob Tremblay, who looked like a true young gent in his dapper suit.

Oh, and did we mention Ryan Gosling was there? Just thought we’d add that vital piece of information in.
