Embrace your feminine side with the F&F collection of gorgeous skirts and dresses

For me, great style is all about cool and interesting contrasts, and the F&F AW18 collection of skirts and dresses delivers the kind of fashion-forward pieces that I know will add a strong point of difference to my wardrobe.

Top of my wish list is this chic animal-print skirt. Leopard print has traditionally sexy and rock ‘n’ roll associations, but by reimagining it in the shape of a midi-length pleated skirt, F&F has injected the pattern with sophistication and elegance. If you thought you couldn’t wear animal print to work, think again. This stunning skirt would pair beautifully with a crisp white shirt and smart heels.

Pencil skirts are experiencing a resurgence, and this F&F piece works so well because it contrasts a very feminine, fitted silhouette with the boyishness of checks. I love the simplicity but effectiveness of the four buttons as a design detail. It adds individuality and freshness to the piece.

I’d rather wear florals in winter than summer because it feels so much less obvious. Plus, I love the kind of earthy, moody patterns that signify the change of seasons. This F&F floral dress is one of my favourites. The high neck and long sleeves are elegant, but because the fabric is sheer in places, the dark colours won’t overwhelm you. The beautiful golden flowers, which add a slightly regal feel to the dress, make this an ideal piece to wear later in the year as the party season approaches. It’s a perfect desk to dinner outfit.

Tunic dresses are a staple in my wardrobe. They’re perfect for days when I can’t face being pinched by denim or sucked in by fitted dresses. In a tunic, I can relax and breathe! Worn over a pair of leggings and with chunky boots, it’s a laid-back look, but it never appears just thrown-on. The two-tier gathered detail of this F&F tunic gives the piece some shape without losing the fluidity we associate and want from a tunic. The heritage checks make it feel very this season, but the wonderful thing about checks is that they look great every autumn.
