Elevated staples are the hero pieces of your winter wardrobe and Theo + George has you covered

Getting dressed in the morning should be a joy, not a chore. That’s why a curated wardrobe filled with a good proportion of strong staples and beautiful basics is essential. These pieces are the cornerstone of your day-to-day wardrobe and the anchor pieces of every outfit. The tricky part, of course, is knowing where to buy these sartorial saviours.

Well, look no further than luxury Irish brand Theo + George. Hero pieces are this label’s USP. From premium T-shirts to the quintessential LBD, Theo + George has all the items you need to make mornings a stress-free affair.

Top of my shopping list is the Lilian crew-neck T-shirt (below). This super-soft, slightly structured tee will work with any number of outfits. Of course, it looks great over jeans, but I like to wear good-quality T-shirts under blazers as a less formal, but still smart, alternative to a shirt. This T-shirt comes in white, grey and black, and I like to have one of each in my wardrobe as they’re such a reliable go-to in the mornings. Even better, right now if you buy two T-shirts, you receive a third free.

I often think outerwear isn’t given enough consideration by women. Without doubt, a great coat or jacket can take a simple, understated outfit and make it sing. Theo + George has several stunning jackets that can be thrown over the most pared-back pieces and transform the look from ordinary to statement. The Alannah bomber jacket is one such piece (below). Made in a soft black quilted suede, this bomber jacket combines the practicality of a utilitarian piece with the elegance of a dinner jacket. It’s a very cool contrast that gives this jacket a beautiful point of difference.

When a piece of clothing has its own acronym, you know it’s a must-have; an LBD really is the quintessential sartorial saviour. This version from Theo + George can be easily dressed up with heels, although I would wear it as pictured, with a pair of sturdy flat boots for an “easy chic” look. Made from 100 per cent French terry fabric for durability and comfort, this is the kind of LBD that takes no effort to wear, but looks so sophisticated and chic.
