First dates can be nerve-wracking; you want to make a good impression as soon as you walk through the door. The dreaded outfit choice can be tricky. You want to look effortlessly gorgeous; which you do already, but it’s no harm in having a few outfit ideas beforehand. Just a few back-ups to make the whole process a little more relaxing.
There is nothing worse than having no idea what to wear, especially when you’re rushing from work to home to shower to mutually agreed upon bar. You get stressed, sweaty, and you usually just go back to what you put on the very first go.
So in order to avoid all of this mental swamp, we have come up with a few fail-safe outfit ideas for different dating scenarios. Think Blake Lively in a bunch of Meg Ryan remakes.

Iconic Breton Stripy Top, €58, Petit Bateau
High Waisted Slim Mom Jeans,??44.24, Asos
HERMIONE Heeled Sandals,??55.30, Asos
We love stripes at image.ie far too much not to include at least one stripey look. Stripes are simple but always chic. They bring french glamour to the (restaurant) table. Choose to wear some colourful shoes, or opt for a red lipstick to add a pop of colour. These high waisted jeans will give you the option to tuck part of your top in or you can wear it over, whatever you feel suits you better. To make this look more sophisticated just put your hair in a beautiful and a little messy bun and you’ll be parfaite. it’s the ultimate post-work drinks gear.
Cropped Knit Jumper, €29, Oliveclothing.com
Halter Neck Knit Top, €29, Oliveclothing.com
Cheap Monday High Waisted Jeans, €49, Urbanoutfitters
Kimono Jacket, €49, Topshop.com
This is a seriously relaxed outfit for The Cinema Date. You’ll want to wear a nice cosy jumper, because some Irish cinemas don’t agree with turning the heating on. Heels or flats, like the ones we have added to the next outfit, will do. The kimono jacket pulls the whole outfit together, giving it a little more depth which says “Sometimes I go to the actual theatre too.”
Lace Detail Check Top, €59, Oliveclothing
High Waisted Mom Jeans,??48.39, Asos
Tie Up Leather Ballerinas,??49.95, Zara
This look says lunch date, with the chance of a city stroll afterwards. It’s a relaxed, simple look. If you wish to spice up the look a little, simply wear a strong ?lipstick.
Belted Jumpsuit,??75 on sale at??37, & Other Stories?
This gorgeous black jumpsuit would look fab for a dinner date, it’s chic and simple and would work really well with the Suede heels shown for the first look.
Mock Croc Mini City Bag,??39.95, Zara
Finally, we have added this little bag because it goes with every single look. It’s a handy size – touch-up make-up kit friendly with room for some distracting electronics in case someone is late. And it’s only €40.
