As a self-confessed autumn/winter lover, there’s nothing nicer than pulling on a brand new winter coat. Here are five of my favourite coats right now.
If you want value for money, this reversible coat is a terrific buy. Worn with an exposed back, it’s an ideal option for evening. The oversized lapels create a touch of theatre, while the?wool/silk blend offers warmth without bulk.

Cream and blush tones look luxurious in winter and act as nice counterpoint to all the dark neutrals and jewel tones in the stores right now. I like the oversized shape of this piece, and the fact that it’s detail free. It feels very modern and fresh.

I like that this H&M parka is navy rather than traditional khaki. Oversized padded jackets are particularly on trend this season, but this is a year-in-year-out failsafe buy. Who wouldn’t want to wrap up in this on a wintry morning?
We all revert to black in winter sometimes. I find the best way to elevate a sombre look is to inject a shock of colour, such as this cobalt blue coat. It’s a fantastic shade?for pale Irish skin tones and will pair just as easily with brights?as it will with neutrals. The piped pocket detailing adds a subtle but chic finishing touch.
This is more of a “coatigan”. I really like that it has a hood – it adds a practical but insouciant vibe to the piece. Layer under?an XL parka or?a masculine-style duster coat for a laid-back cosy feel.
