Most people will have experimented with a liquid black liner from time to time with, to be sure, varied levels of success. It is a tricky thing to pull off well – getting the correct thickness, the correct swoosh, the correct point in relation to the eye. It comes down to two things: the product you use and the technique.

Now, you can at least nail one of these elements. The Super Liner Blackbuster from L’Oreal Paris, €9.99, is a marker pen eyeliner that glides over the skin and is very, very easy to use. It draws a thick line that gets the look much more easily than trying to layer up thin layers of liner with a little wobbly brush.

So that’s that sorted. Now just work on the steady hand…
