Three for Tuesday: Bob styles that give us serious hair envy

Three for Tuesday: Bob styles that give us serious hair envy

Bob styles never seem to go completely off trend, with at least one version prevailing season after season. Here are my current favourite takes on the trend…

Not all bobs were created equal… And not all will work on every face shape.

1. The blunt blonde crop

Everyone from Cara Delevingne and Diane Kruger, Emma Roberts to Hailey Bieber has gone full blonde, full chop. In a brave move, cutting your hair to your chin or above is a risk, and truth be told I don’t have the bone structure for it. But if you do, it’s not only an easy style to maintain but it gives you serious cool points.

My favourites of the moment are Lucy Boynton, who can’t put a fashion or beauty foot wrong, and Karlie Kloss who could do literally anything with her hair and still look chic.

2. The dark and sleek

I’ll be forever envious of the shine that dark hair can get when freshly styled — it’s something that no blonde-haired person can ever hope to achieve no matter what Ouai products we’re using. And when the dark hair is in a sleek bob, the light bounces off every hair like the blooming Eiffel Tower dusk-time light show.

Anne Hathaway is no stranger to a bob, and a hella shiny one at that. Likewise, Kelly Rowland’s style choices are always covetable.

3. The elegant lob

Ideal if you don’t want to commit to a full bob, the lob (or long bob) works as a mid-way point between chopping everything off and still having some length to play around with.

Khloe Kardashian (who, IMHO, should never go back to dark hair — blonde is her colour) does an excellent bob, always varying her length (with extensive help from wigs I’d imagine). And Rose Byrne, who I adore in every possible way, gives great lob here too.
