We got an exclusive sneak peek at award-winning actress Siobhán Cullen’s glam—done by the one and only Aimee Connolly—ahead of this year’s IFTAs.
On Friday, February 20, the red carpet was rolled out at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin for this year’s Irish Film & Television Academy awards — and it was an incredibly stylish affair.
Sculpted By Aimee were the Official Beauty Partner of the awards, and IMAGE were invited in for some exclusive access to IFTA-nominee Siobhán Cullen’s makeup and hair suite. Siobhán was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for the Hulu/RTE dark comedy Obituary, which she leads for a second season. She also presented Best Actor to Saipan‘s Eanna Hardwicke.
Next up for Siobhán, she’ll be seen leading critical, visceral pregnancy grief drama Babies from BBC alongside BAFTA-nominee Paapa Esseidu. She is mid-filming Chad Stahelski and Amazon’s blockbuster Highlander remake with Henry Cavill, Dave Bautista, and Jeremy Irons.
Siobhán is a former IFTA winner and Rising Star, a Screen International Star of Tomorrow, and Gotham-award nominee for her role in Netflix’s Bodkin. She was named as one of Porter’s 2026 Creatives to Know.
On the night, Siobhán wore Sacai, styled by Oisín Boyd and Ellie May Brown. Of the look, Oisín said: “Siobhán has such an inherent chicness to her that we were keen to lean in to this. We immediately thought of one of our favourite brands Sacai for this special night. The juxtaposition of a shirt and skirt with beautiful embellishments felt intelligent yet fun. While it looks like separate pieces, it is in fact a dress, the thigh high openings at the front creates a beautiful shape and allow for a little shoe action. For the heels, we went with another of our favourite brands, Jude, they elevate every outfit and always feel directional. Finishing the look off we added a simple pair of Dévé earrings, we did not want to go heavy on the jewellery as the dress was the real moment here and these beautiful simple hoops accented it perfectly.”
Speaking on the makeup look, Aimee said: “I absolutely loved creating Siobhán’s look for the IFTAs. We wanted the makeup to feel super natural and glowy. Her outfit was so incredible that we chose to keep the glam more pared back, focusing on enhancing her features and complementing the overall look rather than overpowering it. I prepped the skin with our LiquidGlo Essence and HydraGlo Serum to create the perfect radiant base.”
“For complexion, we used Cream Cushion Foundation in 2C to achieve a seamless, skin-like finish. We sculpted the face using an exciting new product launching in May (which we can’t wait to share!),” she continues. “For lips we went with Line & Shine in Blush, and the eyes were topped off with Lash Lift in Ultra Black for definition and lift.”
Of the experience, Siobhán tells us: “It was such a special evening celebrating a remarkable year for our community and in particular, honouring the inimitable Ciarán Hinds. I felt amazing thanks to my stylists Oisín Boyd and Ellie May Brown who sourced a stunning Sacai dress for me and I was lucky enough to have the magicians Aimee Connolly and Dylan Bradshaw on hair and make-up (and boy did I need it after a run of Highlander night shoots!)”
“Dylan created a very cool and relaxed swept back bun, that complimented the balance of masculine and feminine elements of the dress and Aimee achieved levels of glow never seen before on my face!” Siobhán continues. “We spoke about a makeup look that felt very effortless and fresh, with diffused blush and a soft eye and she nailed the brief! (We also had the best time in the Sculpted by Aimee suite which really set the vibe for the evening!) I feel very privileged to have worked with such a creative team of Irish artists, especially on a night dedicated to celebrating the talent we have at home.”
