This award season is all about pink make-up

This award season is all about pink make-up

Don’t throw out your pink eyeshadow just yet – the Critics’ Choice Awards proves this trend isn’t budging.

We are two ceremonies into award season with the Golden Globes last week and the Critics’ Choice Awards last night and after last week’s prevalence of rooty blondes, it transpires that all things pink are just as powerful a beauty trend.

If you’re thinking of the frosted bubblegum pink of your past, this is not that – think berry-toned lips to fuchsia eyes and peachy cheeks. Last week, Gillian Anderson and Helen Mirren wore rose-tinted lips, Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett and Michelle Williams went peachy and Margot Robbie and Priyanka Chopra led with berry lips and dusky rose cheeks.

Last night, Zendaya paired her magenta Tom Ford latex ensemble with hot pink eyeshadow and nude lips and Kate Beckinsale wore monotone fuschia eyes, lips and cheeks by celebrity make-up artist Rob Scheppy. Saoirse Ronan took our award for best beauty look at the Critics’ Choice Awards, with translucent skin, bubblegum pink eyes and cheeks, firetruck red lips and bright yellow nails. Her make-up artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua said, “Inspired by the hand-embroidered Erdem red and white floral pattern romantic dress, we wanted to create a fun shimmery eye to complement the red tones and we popped the lips with a bright classic red which balanced with the hair Adir kept minimal with a soft wave.”

Check out Kate Beckinsale, Saoirse Ronan and Zendaya’s rosy beauty looks below.
