The new season nail trends to know for AW22

This summer, it was Hailey Bieber's Glazed Donut nails that took the TikTok world by storm... but what's considered in vogue this season? From classic manicures to moodier tones and khaki hues, Sara Madigan, owner of The Gloss House, fills us in on the biggest AW22 nail trends.

Classic manicure

@nailsbyyagal

The classic manicure is still trending for AW 22 – it may never go out of style! Characterised by super clean cuticles, perfectly-shaped nails and one colour choice with a shiny top coat, it’s a classic for a reason. This season, we’re seeing a lot of Nailberry ‘Rouge’ for regular polish and ‘Candy’ or ‘Manhattan’ for gel manicures.

Mixed textures

@glosshousedublin

The mixed texture trend is all about mixing up the finish with a combination of both a matte and a shiny top coat.  This allows for texture and depth, while still keeping the style very minimalist. This particular trend works really well with deep nudes, browns and blacks.

Deeper, moodier tones

@glosshousedublin

As we move further into autumn, we’re starting to see deeper tones take over. Nailberry ‘Taupe LA’, ‘Les Temps Des Cerises’ and ‘Number 69’ suit all skin tones and are some of our most-requested colours at the moment.

Khaki colours

@thehangedit

Khaki hues are proving to be the neutral of the season; no design just one colour.  Gel Bottle ‘Avant Garde’ and Nailberry ‘Viva La Vegan’ are our firm favourites.

Builder in a bottle

@glosshousedublin

This treatment is now a cult best-seller loved by our gel clients. Thinly applied, the product is ideal for sculpting strong overlays and as a strengthening barrier for natural nails. We’re seeing a lot of plain bases like ‘Dreamer’ or ‘018 Gel Bottle BIAB’ for a naked look. For something glitzier, add a touch of glitter or metallic foil to give your nails that extra oomph.

Open as of December 2020, The Gloss House on Booterstown Avenue specialises in hand and foot treatments, using cruelty-free and vegan-friendly products. You can find out more info about their offerings and book in for your next nail appointment here.
