Ireland’s glitterati guide to festive glamour.

Want to party like a pro, but feeling a bit low on the wherewithal to get you going and keep you glowing? In the December issue of IMAGE Magazine, on sale now, Melanie Morris checks in with some of Ireland’s most glittering, glamorous gals for tips that will keep you sparkling until the last pine needle drops. Here, Helen Steele, artist and fashion designer shares her tips.

EARLY BIRD OR NIGHT OWL?
I try to be an early bird during the week as a rule, and the festive season is a busy time for me, so I try to limit things to a few parties.

WHAT DOES YOUR FESTIVE PARTY SEASON LOOK LIKE?
I do an annual get-together with my school pals, which is always a great session, and one I wouldn’t miss for the world – it’s my Christmas cornerstone. Then it’s mostly dinners and the odd brunch, but I try to keep it in check, as Christmas is an expensive time Santa-wise! I will also be playing personal taxi driver to my son Ronnie and daughter Halle. I am judging the Savills best dressed at Leopardstown Races on December 28, so that’s a date in my diary that I will not be the designated driver.

Charlotte Tilbury Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask, €48

HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR SKIN LOOKING ITS BEST?
Loads of water. I religiously take my make-up off with Cetaphil, and I use SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic every day for a hefty antioxidant feed. My Christmas gift to myself is always a pre-season facial with Dr Rosemary Coleman.

DO YOU MASK?
Yes. I use the Phyto Corrective mask from SkinCeuticals to calm my skin, and the Charlotte Tilbury Overnight Glow mask to revive it.

WHO’S IN YOUR GLAM SQUAD?
I love getting my hair and make-up done for special nights out. I go to Peter Mark on Grafton Street for hair, Leonard Daly for make-up and Tropical Popical for nails.

Benefit Cosmetics Benetint, €34.50

CLUTCH BAG ESSENTIALS?
Lip balm, Benefit Benetint, and GloMinerals bronzer.

YOUR MAGICAL HANGOVER CURE?
Water, and Silver Hill Peking duck and pancakes.
