IMAGE Autumn 2025 hits shelves Saturday, August 30, and managing editor Megan Burns is here to highlight the best of what’s inside the new issue.

January may get all the buzz, but fashion lovers know that September is the real fresh start that we all look forward to. Sumptuous fabrics and sharp tailoring are the cornerstone of any autumn wardrobe, and is there any better feeling than treating yourself to a new coat or pair of boots that you know will see you through many seasons to come? Stylist Sinéad Keenan’s statement fashion shoot celebrates these timeless staples, from elegant skirts to versatile outerwear.

While Suzie Coen chats to experts about how to reorganise your wardrobe to get the most out of what you already have – and it doesn’t mean throwing away all but ten items.

And Ciara Elliott takes a tour of our favourite knitwear label, Stable of Ireland’s stunning new creative studio space in Dublin. It’ll have you praying for a cold snap to break out all your cosiest layers.

This enthusiasm for newness extends to our careers, too. Along with the desire to organise our desks and refresh our work wardrobe, Leonie Corcoran encourages a different approach to our work culture. She explains how it is leading us towards burnout, and the very real effects on our brain. Read her insightful piece on how to bring a slower, more considered outlook to the new season.

If you’re feeling entrepreneurial, or just love a great flat white,  Melanie Mullan chats to three women who made the leap into the world of coffee, from roasting beans to drive-through set-ups.

On the theme of pausing to take stock, Nikki Walsh delves into the world of breathwork, and discovers the cohort of women who have found it transformational in dealing with busy lives. We also have a moving piece about how a life change such as divorce can be difficult, but also the beginning of a new, important chapter.

And we’re taking inspiration from three creatives on unwinding this season, whether you love to switch off through cooking, immersing yourself in nature, or moving your body.

Of course, there is little more transformational than a hair revamp – Melanie Morris delves into the treatments to ensure the shiniest, healthiest locks to take you into the new season with confidence.

A fresh approach is also what chef Tom Hayes has taken to his role – his “roaming kitchen” hosts exciting pop-up dinners that are very much in demand. He tells Ali Dunworth about it, and shares some autumnal recipes.

We also explore the home of designer Helen Cody. Her collection of art and objects are a continuous source of joy and inspiration – a reminder that having beautiful things in our lives is far from frivolous, but instead can bring meaning and a new mood to our spaces.

Whatever kind of renewed energy you’re bringing into the season, I hope you find something that chimes in these pages.
