The Golden Globes kicked off the 2016 award season last night, and while many view it as a way to gauge how all will fair when it comes to the Oscars, we take the Globes as an opportunity to scope out the best style and beauty trends for the forthcoming year. While there was plenty of fresh and radiant complexions, classic red lips and cascading curls, we were blown away by the daring choices of some of our favourite stars.

In the beauty deparment, Olivia Palermo stepped away from her typical, natural look with a bold pink lipstick, and we can’t wait to try out Olivia Wilde’s crimson eyeshadow look.

Rooney Mara and Saoirse Ronan undisputedly had the boldest?hair on the night; ?Rooney Mara’s hair was tightly slicked back into an elegant braid and Saoirse Ronan’s sleek hair twisted into Grecian braids entwined with gold thread. Rachel McAdams wore her hair in an intricate French twist updo, Kate Bosworth demonstrated the perfect chignon and Mother Of Dragons Emilia Clarke chose a tousled, romantic half-up-half-down style.
