20th Mar 2016
The winners were announced tonight, Sunday, March 20th, at the third annual IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards, in association with Imedeen, Colgate and Boots, at Dublin’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. We donned our finest gowns to recognise Ireland’s best beauty therapists and hairdressers as well as the country’s standout hair salons, beauty salons and skincare clinics and beauty brands.
The nominations for #imageBOB16 were put to you, our loyal readers back in early January, you then voted in your droves – over 200,000 of you! – for your favourite hair stylist, the best nail technician and much more. Now, after a truly amazing night?? where we trended for its entirety – hosted by the always dapper?Darren Kennedy?and our own lovely IMAGE Magazine editor-in-chief, Melanie Morris ??? we can happily reveal the IMAGE Business of Beauty 2016 winners. Hurrah!
Also?at the event were Marks & Spencer marketing manager Carmel Breheny, IMAGE Publications CEO Clodagh Edwards, Imedeen Brand Manager Rebecca Mines, Head of Marketing for Boots Ireland, Gillian Hennessey, bloggers Suzanne Jackson, ?Make-up Fairy? The evening, dubbed as Ireland’s hair and beauty Oscars, had plenty to entertain. On arrival, guests were welcomed with bespoke Tanqueray gin and Ciroc vodka cocktails, created by Diageo’s award-winning mixologists and named after event hosts Darren Kennedy and Melanie Morris – we tried (many of) them; they were out out-of-this-world amazing. Then, over a scrumptious three-course dinner, with wine from Marks & Spencer, a host of fabulous spot prizes were awarded to lucky guests.
IMAGE.ie editor Ellie Balfe and iconic hair stylist Gary Kavanagh chose Asta Kalmins of Fifth Avenue?and Robbie Barrett of Sugar Daddy?as the most stylish on the night. Both win a stay at the Philip Treacy-designed g hotel in Galway. And the Tropical Popical gang scooped the ?Best Selfie? prize of a luxury 2-night stay at Powerscourt Hotel, and the loan of a Mazda MX5 sports car for the trip.
After dinner, the LED dancefloor lit up to the tunes of DJ Mo Kelly and dancing continued late into the night before many continued the party in Lillies Bordello. All left with groaning goodie bags packed with treats from Bourjois, Benefit, Fuscia, Blank Canvas, The Body Shop, Colgate, Imedeen, VitaCoco, Brodericks, and Just Eat.
