Ayda Field Williams: A week in my wardrobe

Ayda Field Williams: A week in my wardrobe

A fitness enthusiast and keen fashion lover, Ayda Field Williams favours comfort over all else when it comes to style. Launching her own activewear brand last summer, every piece is an extension of her joyful spirit and carefree approach to life. Here she shares a week in her wardrobe.

MONDAY

I got to bed very late binge-watching reality TV (this happens more frequently than I would like to admit ) and I’m late for the school run… again! I drop Coco last at school at 8:50am and have a Zoom weight training class at 9am, so my turnaround time is quick. I’m wearing our new @shopayda Sid Flare Leggings and Sid Sports Bra (named after our old Malamute Dog Sid) with our Chief Track Top (named after our Golden Retriever Chief…. you might be picking up on our love of dogs). It’s the best! It’s comfy, very flattering, and awesome to work out in. I’ve always had a thing for flare leggings since high school and I’m so happy we finally made a pair. Plus, the lines on it make my legs look way longer than they are, #bonus! Our Chief Track Top is literally the best sweatshirt I’ve ever worn. Sometimes, I sleep in it just ’cause it’s that good. I’m wearing our F*CK YEAH socks and my favourite Asics. On your marks, get set, go!

TUESDAY

I have a gala tonight for Mother 2 Mothers, which is a charity I support. Being able to help raise awareness and money for a great cause is such a blessing and tonight is a big moment for the charity. I am wearing a gorgeous lace turtleneck and silk dress by The Esthe, a brand created by my friend Daniela Neves. I’m all about comfort and this dress is so chic and effortless, and best of all, I can eat anything I want in it and not have to worry about the bloat. It’s chilly these nights and I wanted to be warm but not too formal looking, so I edged up the look with my favourite Miu Miu jacket. I’ve had it for 10+ years and it has been on umpteen adventures and tours with me. My daughter Teddy has told me that she gets it when she’s older, but she might have to fight Coco over this one!

And because comfort is truly my happy place, under my dress, I have my trusted Prada loafers and my Shop Ayda F*CK YEAH socks on. Let’s go raise some money!

WEDNESDAY

Ok, full admission. I drank way too many vodkas at the gala last night and might have mixed it with both red wine and white wine at some point in the evening (never mix the grape with grain I always say… until I get too drunk to forget how that saying goes). So, the hangover is a struggle today. The reason the make-up looks good is literally because I passed out in my bed and forgot to wash it off (I’m not sure I should be admitting to that!?) I’ve managed to wrestle my children into bed and am going to have an early night in. I’m wearing our Shop Ayda Buddy PJ set that reads: F*CKING TIRED.

THURSDAY

I’m feeling much better after a good night’s sleep and plenty of fluids, so I decided to hit the gym for leg day. As I’ve gotten older (and wiser?), I’ve realised the importance of weight training to keep my joints happy. I love our Mr. Showbiz Crop Tank and Leggings (yes, we also have a dog called Mr. Showbiz) from our new F*cking Festive Holiday Collection. I love it for the obvious reasons… it’s the colour of wine, is super comfy, and it cinches me in all the right places. The tank has a built-in bra that actually holds my boobs in but doesn’t strangle my rib cage. Plus, it’s the kind of set that I can just throw a coat or a sweater over and some boots and run errands outside and still feel dressed up. I’m usually dashing out all day long, so the studio-to-street vibe is very important to me. In the corner of the photo are my favourite Hermes Chypre Slippers. They are my shoe spirit animal.

FRIDAY

I have a girl’s lunch today, I’m so excited to see my girlfriends as it’s been ages. Even though we all live in the same city, time seems to zip past and before we know it, it’s been weeks since we’ve seen each other. Plus, one of my friends has a new boyfriend and has just been away on holiday with him for the first time, so I’m definitely gonna need the scoop on that! I’m wearing our new Max Beverly Hills Bomber. It’s washable silk and pure Beverly Hills chic. It’s from our Loud Luxury collaboration with Browns and Farfetch and was inspired by my childhood growing up in Beverly Hills. Sadly, you can’t see the back of the jacket here – it has the coolest embroidery, but it’s really hard to take a selfie from the back! I’ve paired it with my favourite loose flare Gucci jeans and my Celine sneakers that I wear all the time. In fact, this is the second pair of the same sneakers I’ve bought because I wear them so much. Let’s hope we get some juicy gossip at lunch!

SATURDAY

I’ve got my first holiday party of the season today, and Teddy’s excited because I’m bringing her as my date. It’s officially a mother-daughter date night! I am wearing old Chanel boots… they are probably the most worn boots in my entire closet and I think I bought them the same year that Robbie and I got married. No matter how many boots I own, they are my true love (sorry, other boots). I’ve got my Wolford tights on because my California blood is way too cold to wear bare legs. My navy skirt is Christian Dior, and is a staple in my wardrobe, and the jacket – which was conveniently still draped on my couch from yesterday’s lunch – is the same Max Beverly Hills Bomber (I was actually too embarrassed to own up to the fact that we also have a dog called Max… I know, it’s a lot of dogs!). The jacket is great ’cause I can wear it casually or dress it up. It also comes with matching silk track pants, but I spilled coffee on them this morning so they are in the wash… Who doesn’t love washable silk?!

SUNDAY

Today is a day of rest. I’m taking my kids to Kew Gardens to see Christmas at Kew. It’s a beautiful festive light display in Richmond and it’s a tradition. I’ve been doing it ever since Teddy was born and it puts me right in the festive mood. Naturally, it only makes sense to wear our Chief Velour Track Jacket and Pants from our F*cking Festive Holiday Collection and my comfy Celine sneakers. Poupette (I promise she’s the last dog I will mention!), my 17 year old  Maltipoo soul-sister-ride-or-die-bestie-bridesmaid-at-my-wedding, is cheering me on. My only goals for the evening are to drink mulled wine, hang out with my kids, and sing off-tune to Christmas songs while I take in the magical setting. I know, undoubtedly, that the evening will end with fights between my overly tired children who will have consumed too much chocolate and will have marshmallows stuck in their hair, but here’s to keeping the dream alive. Right, Poupette!?
