6 Irish stylists on their summer wardrobe wishlists

6 Irish stylists on their summer wardrobe wishlists

From brightly coloured denim and basket bags to tile-print dresses and beach wrap skirts, six stylists share their summer wardrobe wishlists.

I love this Double J dress for its versatile style and lightweight comfort. The elasticated smock neckline and bell sleeves can be adjusted for different looks, and the fresh cotton poplin keeps you cool and elegant all summer long. Top of my summer wishlist. I also love the Rae Feather straw totes! – Jess Colivet

I have had my eye on a pair of Irish brand Maie Atelier’s sunglasses since their launch in spring. I have so many pairs of sunglasses that I couldn’t justify it but the new launch of their style Kesh, €124 in this gorgeous red has my name all over it. The perfect pop of colour for any outfit. I think when buying summer clothes in a country like Ireland, it’s much more sustainable to invest in pieces that you can rotate through your wardrobe throughout all seasons. This baby blue, soft knit cardigan from the brand Almost Home has recently caught my eye. It’s a super cool and versatile piece you can pair with shorts and a t-shirt in the summer and layer it up in the colder days (which tend to occur all year round.) Shopping smarter and not harder is the way to go. – Adam Walsh

I’m very keen on picking up one of these tops from Irish designer Aisling Duffy because they are incredibly unique, sustainable and will definitely elevate any outfit I wear! Who doesn’t love a bit of drama with their casual wear? – Eoin Gavin

I am a true denim addict, so when I saw these pink wash jeans from Source Unknown, €182, I audibly gasped! Are they not perfect? What a fun way to bring denim into summer! Wear with a white tee and flip flops for a laid-back summer-in-the-city look, or dress up for sunset dinner and drinks with a cute pink cami and kitten heels. – Kara O’Sullivan

My essential go-to piece for summer is a wrap skirt. It’s an easy wardrobe staple you can style effortlessly for daytime with a t-shirt and trainers or elevated for the evening with a kitten heel and white shirt or silk camisole. I have three or four different styles in my wardrobe that I return to every summer. As the biggest fan of Dries Van Noten (and devastated by his recent step down as head designer at his eponymous label!) this beautiful silk printed scarf wrap skirt, €495 would work hard for me all summer. From the high street, this monochrome graphic leaf print midi wrap skirt, €9.99 from Zara is a stylish option for workwear with a black linen shirt or over your swimwear as the perfect cover-up on holiday! – Sinéad Keenan

My must-have item for this summer is this Kai Collective t-shirt in white, €139.95. I love its boxy structure and bright-coloured logo. It’s versatile enough to dress up or down, making it perfect for any occasion, from casual shorts to something more dressy. – Emmanuel Agbons
