Social pictures from the IMAGE Motherload ‘Teen Toolkit’ event
Last week, we hosted a special IMAGE Motherload event focussing on the teenage years and the ways in which parents can help navigate them with empathy, resilience, and the right support.
We came together in the beautiful Fern House Cafe in Avoca Kilmacanogue on Wednesday, October 15 for the IMAGE Motherload event: The Teen Toolkit – Parenting with Purpose.

IMAGE Media’s editorial director and host of IMAGE The Motherload podcast Dominique McMullan led us in a fascinating and informative panel focused on the teenage years: how to prepare yourself as a parent, how to support your teen’s dreams, how to hold boundaries with love, and how to spot the signs when things aren’t quite right. From social media and screen time to mental health and identity, our speakers explored the real challenges – and the real joys – of raising teens today.

This conversation brought together an incredible panel of voices, including child and adolescent psychotherapist Dr Colman Noctor, founder of The Shona Project and teen advocate Tammy Darcy, and designer and artist Helen Steele, a mother who has navigated these years with creativity and courage.
