Despite the challenges of adopting rescue dogs, Amy Lynch’s two were THE best dogs. What she didn’t think about was how things might end. Because, when your dog is your fitness buddy, companion, teacher and bodyguard, how do you say goodbye?

Christmas 2007 was a special one. That was the year my husband and I took home two rescue pups from WSPCA.  You could have predicted it a mile off. There we were, love’s young dream volunteering at the animal shelter.
