Amanda Cassidy speaks to those who feel they've no choice but to leave the country, those who now consider house-viewings as a sport, and those who feel as if they'll never ever get the chance to put down roots.

“I’ve had five homes in nine years. It’s extremely hard to establish roots anywhere, especially for my kids.” Audrey* has twin boys who are eleven next month. A single mother, she lives just outside Swords with them in a three bed rental. She says she’s struggled to get on the property ladder and now, after her marriage broke down, it’s even harder. The kids have had to move schools twice because there’s just nothing available...
