Sometimes a baby can be both a bundle of joy and a burden. After four miscarriages and failed IVF, our writer became pregnant, and unexpectedly made it through the first trimester. Now she finds herself with no maternity leave, feeling happy, angry, grateful and frustrated.

It started in 2020, a miscarriage. I didn’t know I was pregnant until I lost it. Finding out you’re pregnant and not pregnant at the same time, is a cruel trick of nature.   It wasn’t my first loss.
