This TV is a design lover’s dreamThis TV is a design lover’s dream

This TV is a design lover’s dream

Blending beautifully into any space, disguised as a high-end piece of artwork, it’s now at the top of my wishlist for my home.

I’m going to start by saying that I’m not usually particularly interested in televisions. In my house, my husband is the tech guy, meticulously researching anything before we buy it, comparing specs and weighing up options. When we bought our current TV, my only concern was its size, making sure it didn’t dominate the room too much.

But, when I was offered the opportunity to try out Samsung’s new The Frame Pro, my interest was piqued. A television that promised to transform into a piece of art when not in use sounded right up my street, removing the usual annoyance of factoring a large black screen into the design of your living space.

And although The Frame has been on the market for a while, the new The Frame Pro Neo QLED 4K Vision AI Smart TV has been designed with cutting-edge technology that seemed likely to please both my design tastes, and my husband’s love of the latest tech. It supports up to 144Hz refresh rate, compared to 120Hz on the previous model, delivering smoother motion for sports and fast-paced content, while it’s powered by quantum mini LEDs, giving exceptional contrast and clarity, even in bright rooms.

When it arrived, I noted its sleek, silvery frame – these bevels clip on and can be customised to complement your space, coming in finishes such as different shades of wood, or a simple white. Its wireless One Connect Box, also helps it to look more like a piece of art than a TV. It can be stored anywhere within 10 metres of The Frame, minimising cable clutter.

When watching it, the picture was smooth and crisp, notably better than our current TV, and the sound was excellent thanks to the eight built-in speakers. What I was most impressed by, however, was what happened when you switch it to Art Mode. If you haven’t seen it in action, it’s easy to imagine that even with a piece of art on screen, it would still look like a television, but this isn’t the case at all. The Frame’s matt display makes art truly look like exactly that, with no glaring brightness – if I didn’t know it was a TV, I could have been fooled. The colour is also validated by Pantone, so you know it’s rich and authentic.

The Samsung Art Store gives you access to over €5.3 billion worth of iconic art that you can display on your Frame, including famous classics and modern pieces. There is also a complimentary collection of art that changes each month, or you can upload your own photos, so you can constantly change the display to suit your space and mood.

The Frame Pro is now definitely on my wishlist for its combination of elegant, unobtrusive design, and seamless tech that really delivers on its promises.
