Full of Edwardian charm, this modern Greystones home is bright, spacious and with a wonderful garden.

Built in 1902 in the classic Burnaby Edwardian style, Kincora is an impressive four/five-bedroom semi-detached family home in Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Reportedly, Eamon De Valera lived next door to Kincora during the early years of his marriage up to 1921.

Beautifully maintained, the home is in exceptional condition and has been extensively upgraded over the years with the addition of a stunning Hampton-style dining room with vaulted ceiling, a utility room, and a garden room with French doors out to the landscaped rear garden. A gravel drive leads up to the front of the property where there is a picturesque veranda, sash windows and a solid hall door framed with individual glass panels.

Moving inside, a welcoming entrance hall greets you upon entry with wide plank solid oak flooring, high ceilings, cornicing and Dado rails. The drawing room is positioned off the hall to the right-hand side while the living room is across the way on the left. Large windows are peppered throughout the home allowing for a lovely flow of natural light from room to room.

The open-plan kitchen is by far the true standout of the home and boasts a gorgeous duck egg blue gas Aga and a large island-style breakfast counter, perfect for casual dining. This room also features a pantry larder with spice racks and pull-out drawers, as well as a compartmentalised bin drawer and integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer. In the adjacent dining room, a fitted bench seat doubles as storage under four sash windows.

A marble-tiled utility room, wc and a fifth bedroom currently being used as a study completes the downstairs accommodation.

Four further bedrooms can be found upstairs. A guest attic room and bathroom were added in recent years – both accessed by a new staircase which matches the main Edwardian-style staircase that was already there. All bathrooms were newly fitted in 2015 and include a family bathroom overlooking the garden, an ensuite added to the master bedroom, a downstairs wc and an attic shower room.

Outside, the garden is another standout feature and comprises a large lawned area with mature trees, shrubs and boundary hedging for privacy. The patio area is ideal for sun worshippers while the old tree house will certainly appeal to families with children.

Nestled on Kinlen Road, the property is located in a highly sought-after area with Greystones Beach, a Dart station and the town centre itself just a short distance away. The Marina and Harbour are fantastic additions to the town and offer myriad sporting activities from sailing to kayaking, diving and fishing. Situated between mountains and sea, Greystones offers the best of all outdoor pursuits and is surrounded by natural scenic beauty whilst only being a 45-minute commute to Dublin city centre and the airport.

Currently on the market for €1,750,000, Kincora is on sale through O’Gorman Properties. Early viewing is recommended however, you can take a peek inside this beautiful Greystones home in our gallery below.
