Located in the beautiful Murray Hill, Graham Norton's historic Manhattan mews is on the market for $5,595,000.

After news broke that Graham Norton had listed his London residence at Pier Head for sale, it soon emerged that the Cork-born television presenter and author had put his historic Manhattan home on the market too.

Tucked away in a tiny gated mews in Murray Hill, the property is one of just ten charming brick carriage houses on Sniffen Court. Originally used as horse stables, the characterful home was purchased by Norton in 2002 from its previous owner, supermodel Claudia Schiffer.

Norton was originally drawn to the property for its secluded charm despite being in the middle of the city. “Once you step into Sniffen Court,” he said, “there is no sense that you are in the heart of Manhattan!”

And it is easy to see why the beloved celebrity was drawn to the house. The two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom home was recently renovated by acclaimed design firm Gachot Studios and offers all the urban luxuries one could hope for including high ceilings, abundant natural light and stylish finishes spread across three beautifully appointed floors.

Inside, the home’s showstopper is the Great Room, where 15-foot ceilings create a dramatic sense of space. A striking lilac stone fireplace anchors the room, while a wide picture window frames leafy views of the mews outside. Just beyond lies a cosy library, lined with bespoke floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a welcoming dining room that offers a more intimate setting in contrast to the grandeur of the living area. The adjacent windowed kitchen features sleek stainless-steel countertops and custom cabinetry, while a stylish powder room off the library and elegant oak herringbone floors complete the main level.

Upstairs, a curved staircase leads to a guest bedroom with a chic marble en-suite, while the top floor is devoted to the expansive primary suite, featuring a sitting area, home office, spa-like bathroom and a charming windowed morning bar.

Just above, a sun-soaked rooftop terrace offers a leafy escape for al fresco dining or entertaining.

The home really is a refined retreat in the heart of the city and is on the market for a whopping $5,595,000.
