Planning a trip to Dubai? This hotel sets the bar

Planning a trip to Dubai? This hotel sets the bar

From its luxurious ambience to its top-notch services, this hotel has truly set the bar high for all other hotels.

On arrival with my mom at the W Dubai, Mina Seyahi, we were struck by the hotel’s effortlessly relaxed atmosphere. From the sleek decor to the grand entrance marked by a wall waterfall and a prominent ‘W’ sign, the hotel exuded style, personality, and sophistication. The lobby, with its retro, bohemian-style interiors, left a lasting impression that radiated character, style, and class, making it a true fusion of modern and traditional elements. The hotel’s design is inspired by the ancient Mina Seyahi port and the dhow boats that once filled the harbour.

We were eager to see our room after seeing the ground floor of the hotel. When we entered, we were impressed by the Arabian/Bohemian style design with intricate details throughout the room. The hanging lanterns were colourful and cool, and the art Deco-style furnishings added to the overall charm. The walk-in wardrobes were spacious and separated by sheer layered curtains that reminded me of a belly dancer’s skirt. The room offered a spectacular view of the picturesque marina from its spacious balcony, and the retro-style mini bar felt more like a bar than a hotel amenity. But the cherry on top was finding a beautiful collage of pictures of my dogs, Walter and Ralph, curated by the hotel, which they thoughtfully arranged on the table.

The bathroom was open and luxurious, featuring a high ceiling, and its unique selling point was its wet room, which had a rain shower and bathtub that looked out onto the bedroom, offering a view of the marina.

But that’s not all. One of the main highlights of the place had to be the rooftop infinity pool that offered incredible panoramic views of Dubai. Its design was perfect, a real treat for guests. There was also the option to swim to the bar to grab a drink, which was ideal, especially if it got too hot.

I cannot talk about the W Dubai – Mina Seyahi without mentioning the food. The hotel’s main restaurant is Ginger Moon, which offers an incredible breakfast spread every morning. They literally have everything you could think of, and the quality of the food is exceptional. It’s conveniently located next to the infinity pool, so if you want to grab some lunch or light bites, you can order there.

If you’re into Japanese food, then you have to check out Attiko. It’s on the 31st floor and brings the wow factor, but not just for its food. Attiko’s vibe is super slick. The lighting, interiors, and views are insane, and it felt very chilled out there. When it comes to dining, Attiko offers different ways to dine, but since my mom had never tried Japanese food before, we went for the tasting menu. It had a little bit of everything, from Green Bean Tempura to Wagyu sliders and Prawn and Crab Spring rolls.

All in all, the adults-only W Dubai, Mina Seyahi, surpassed my highest expectations; from its infinity pool to its waterfront beaches and the atmosphere at the hotel, it was a memorable experience for all the right reasons. In terms of its location, it’s right next to the Westin Dubai, is a short walk to Dubai’s Marina if you want to get the steps in, and is just a 25-minute drive from the airport.
