Only Murders in the Building and an early Oscars contender – what to watch this week

From a new season of Only Murders in the Building to a Netflix series starring Jeff Goldblum and Sing Sing, widely regarded as an early Oscars contender, here's the best in entertainment this week.

Monday 

Barber, Sky Cinema Premiere/NOW

Val Barber (Aidan Gillen), a private investigator, is hired by a wealthy widow to find her missing granddaughter. Barber’s initial investigation into Sara’s disappearance quickly darkens when secrets start surfacing in unexpected ways. Before too long, Barber finds himself entangled with powerful men of shady morals determined to thwart his investigation. Has he bitten off more than he can chew?

Tuesday 

Only Murders in the Building Season 4, Disney+

In season four of Only Murders in the Building, our amateur podcasting trio wrestle with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki. Questioning whether she or Charles was the intended victim, their investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles, where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As Charles, Oliver and Mabel race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey – traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.

Wednesday 

Blink Twice, in cinemas nationwide

Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice stars Naomi Ackie and Channing Tatum. When tech billionaire, Slater King, meets cocktail waitress, Frida, at his fundraising gala, he invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. However, strange things start to happen, making Frida question her reality and if all really is as it seems.

Thursday 

KAOS, Netflix

Zeus (Jeff Goldblum) has long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis sets in, setting him off on a dangerous, paranoid path. Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming – and starts to see signs of it everywhere. An epic struggle between gods, humans and everything in between, KAOS is brought to you by the creator of The End of the F***ing World.

Friday 

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, Prime Video

In season two of The Rings of Power, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. New episodes plunge even the most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Divine G, imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men in this story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art. Colman Domingo stars.

Sunday

Val & Romesh vs Hollywood Stunts, Sky Max/NOW

Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan are back with a bang as they throw themselves into the world of Hollywood stuntmen. Flying out to LaLaLand itself, our heroes meet up with the Fall Guy stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt before training with the film’s director, David Leitch. Then, back to the UK, Rob and Romesh get set to perform a genuine stunt as they go from Hollywood to… Hollyoaks.
