‘It destroyed Pamela’s life’: Courtney Love hits out at Lily James

Actress Lily James looks so like Pamela Anderson in a recent Instagram snap that we all did a double-take. However, it seems the Baywatch star did not give her approval for the project titled Pam and Tommy, and close friends of the actress are speaking out against the project and its star Lily James.

The upcoming Hulu miniseries chronicles Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s relationship and the infamous sex tape which was stolen and leaked to the press. Its production has riled up the actress’s longtime pal Courtney Love, who took to Facebook on Sunday to blast the project as “vile.”

“I find this so f***ing outrageous,” she wrote alongside a newspaper clipping of Downton Abbey and Baby Driver actress James in costume as Anderson.

“Further causing her complex trauma”

Love went on to share her memories of the sex tape, which she says ruined her friend’s life. Love remembers the footage being ogled by male music industry professionals while she was recording an album.

“They were watching the sex tape with huge schadenfreude… guffaws,” she recalled. “It was disgusting. I banned anyone from discussing it.”

Anderson has frequently spoken about how the scandal came at a very high personal cost; she was several months pregnant during the settlement and has said she has never watched the tape, only was dismayed that such an intimate moment was made public.

“My heart goes out to Pammy,” Love continued. “Further causing her complex trauma.”

“Shame on Lily James, whoever the f*** she is.”

While it might seem obvious to point the finger at James as the series lead, it’s worth pointing out that the project had to have been greenlit by a team of people, James being only one of many who agreed to do the project.
