Readers Wanted: Join us for an evening in the Reading Room with John Boyne

The Reading Room, in partnership with An Post, is back. Join us for an evening with prolific novelist John Boyne, who will be in conversation with IMAGE group contributing editor Melanie Morris, on September 3.

As summer 2020 draws to a close, IMAGE Media and An Post prepare The Reading Room for its next instalment which is set to be a very special evening with one of Ireland’s – and the world’s – most prolific novelists, John Boyne.

Join us on Thursday, September 3 at 8pm, for an evening online of conversation that’s guaranteed to grip.

Enjoy an evening with Boyne and IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris, from the comfort of your couch as the An Post x IMAGE Media Reading Room opens again. Grab a glass of wine and get immersed in the conversation as the two chat about life’s highs and lows, as well as intriguing insights into the world of literature.

We’ll dive into John’s career, glean tips for up-and-coming creative writers and find out how life’s learnings have enlightened the writer, both personally and professionally.

An author of both young adult, and adult fiction, John Boyne has been writing since 2000. His career went stellar in 2006 when his book, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, became a worldwide hit, selling over 7m copies and was made into a film in 2008.

Since then, Boyne has been published in over 50 languages. He has written 11 novels for adults, and a further five for a younger audience. His latest novel, A Traveller at the Gates of Wisdom was published this month and has already received huge attention for its detail, as it follows a story of human emotion, through 2,000 centuries, and set in 51 countries and cultures all over the world (and one in outer space).

John Boyne has a gift for the spoken as well as the written word. He’s a colourful conversationalist, speaking honestly and openly across a broad spectrum of topics, from the deeply personal, to lessons learned through his career.
